Frequently Asked Questions

What makes BioEnhanced Physio different from a regular physiotherapy clinic?
BioEnhanced Physio goes beyond pain management. Our approach integrates advanced physiotherapy, strength training, biomechanics, and performance science to optimise how your body moves, performs, and recovers. Whether you’re an athlete, a professional, or someone who simply wants to move and feel better, we focus on root-cause correction — not just symptom relief — so you can perform at your best for the long term.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is required. You can book directly with us at any time. However, if your appointment relates to a Workers Compensation, CTP, or DVA claim, your insurer or case manager may request supporting documentation from your GP.

Do you offer Telehealth consultations?
Yes — we provide secure online video consultations for assessment, exercise progression, and injury management. It’s ideal for clients who live interstate, travel frequently, or prefer remote follow-ups.

What does “Human Optimisation” mean at BioEnhanced Physio?
Human optimisation is about more than recovery — it’s about performance longevity. We blend physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and cutting-edge health science to build resilience, strength, and function that lasts. From biomechanics to nutrition and recovery, our goal is to help you move better, age stronger, and perform longer.

💪 Treatment & Services

What types of injuries and conditions do you treat?
We treat the full spectrum of musculoskeletal and performance-related conditions — including spinal pain, shoulder and knee injuries, tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation, and biomechanical issues related to training or sport. Whether you’re recovering from injury, dealing with chronic pain, or looking to optimise your movement patterns, we tailor each program specifically to your goals.

What happens in my first session?
Your initial consultation includes a detailed movement and biomechanical assessment, strength and mobility testing, and a review of your training, work, and recovery habits. From there, we create a personalised plan that may include manual therapy, exercise prescription, load management, and recovery strategies. You’ll leave with a clear diagnosis, treatment roadmap, and measurable goals.

Do you provide ongoing performance or strength programs after rehab?
Yes — once you’re pain-free, we can transition you into structured performance programming focused on strength, hypertrophy, or longevity. These programs are designed in-house using the same principles applied to elite athletes: progressive overload, mobility integration, and recovery optimisation.

Do you offer dry needling or shockwave therapy?
Yes — we incorporate both when clinically appropriate. These modalities can accelerate tissue healing and pain reduction, but we always combine them with active rehabilitation to achieve lasting results.

⚙️ Performance & Recovery

Do you only treat athletes?
Not at all. While many of our clients are active individuals, our philosophy applies to everyone — from office workers and weekend gym-goers to high-level athletes. The goal is the same: build stronger, more efficient movement patterns and improve long-term function.

Can you help improve posture, mobility, or performance even if I’m not injured?
Absolutely. Many of our clients come in proactively for movement screening, technique refinement, and performance enhancement. Early intervention helps prevent injury, improve biomechanics, and unlock higher physical capacity.

💰 Pricing & Rebates

Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes. HICAPS is available on-site for instant private health rebates, and Telehealth clients can claim online through their insurer. The rebate amount depends on your individual health fund and level of extras cover.

Can I claim through Medicare, DVA, or Workers Compensation?
Yes, if you have the appropriate referral or claim documentation. We regularly work with case managers, insurers, and employers to coordinate treatment and reporting for injury recovery and return-to-work programs.
